ANHAM Installs Fresh Water Well In Community School
In 2019, UNICEF reported that only 67% of the population in Afghanistan has access to improved sources of drinking water. With this in mind, ANHAM’s commitment to the United Nations SDG goal #6 to provide clean water and sanitation is included in our Sustainability Report released on 4th August 2020, where it was pledged that ANHAM would contribute to improving the accessibility of clean water sources in host countries by increasing the construction of water wells by 10% in 2020/2021.
The commitment began with the recent installation of a fresh water well in Immigration Village School, based in Bagram District, Parwan Province, Afghanistan. The facility was officially opened on the 12th August in the presence of representatives from Immigration Village and ANHAM’s management team. The well was constructed over the period of 9 days and will benefit over 1000 students.
ANHAM continues to actively contribute to improving the lives of people in local communities of which we operate.
